Farm Produce
We sell a variety of farm products including:
- We sell baby goats every spring and occasionally have a limited number of bucks and adult milkers available. See our Goats Page for more information.
- We have fresh, delicious, raw, unpasturized goat milk available from our farm. To obtain the milk, please understand that different states have different laws regulating unpasturized milk. In Tennessee, it is legal to drink raw milk from your own animals, or animals of which you are part owner. A herd share represents ownership of an animal or portion thereof. Therefore, you need to buy a herd share to obtain the raw milk. We sell shares for $10.00 each. When you pay this fee, we ask for your name and contact information and give you a card indicating you have paid the fee. This one-time fee has no expiration date and allows you to buy milk for $3 per quart or $5 for a half gallon, at least once a week. You may purchase more upon request if we have it available or by giving us at least 2 days advance notice. Milk is generally available from early April till December. We send out notifications of availability at the beginning of the season and whenever else the milk supply may be limited for any reason.
Milk can be picked up at any of our farmers markets, directly from the farm, or at a pre-arranged meeting place that works for both of us. We save milk in quart of half gallon wide-mouth canning jars. Please wash and return these jars when empty. We need to have at least 2 days notice to save milk. If you do not pick up your milk at the agreed upon time, we cannot guarantee it will be available later. Email us or use our contact form to get started.
Raw milk is not pasturized, and even though goat milk is naturally homogonized, it will separate some. This is natural and is not at all harmful. Also, raw milk will last about a week unopened, but shelf life can be shorter if allowed to get warm, especially in small quantities. If the milk begins to smell like it is going bad, then it probably is going bad and at that point should not be consumed.
We are very careful to make sure the milk is handled in a safe manner. We drink it ourselves regularly. If for any reason we cannot provide milk you have requested, we will attempt to contact you.
Owning a herd share means you actually own a share of a goat, but someone else takes care of it for you. This gives you the rights to an equivalent portion of the milk the goat produces. Since you don't actually take care of the goat, buying a share helps the goat caretaker pay for obtaining a goat so there will be enough milk for the goat owner. If you own a whole goat, you would get all the milk from that goat, typically at least 5 quarts a day. Since most people don't need that much, you could split the cost of the goat with other people, each person owning one or more shares of the goat. A goat that produces 5 quarts of milk a day would provide 35 quarts a week. This means a goat could easily be owned by as many as 35 different people each holding one share, and each getting 1 quart a week without having to buy and care for the goat.
Herd shares have the following advantages:
1. It's Legal
2. You don't have to take care of the goat
3. You get priority to the available milk
4. You can get the amount of milk you need instead of however much your goat produces.
5. Goats that are less productive are averaged with more productive goats, so you're not stuck with a low producing goat
6. You know where your milk comes from
7. You're supporting a local farmer
8. It allows the farmer to expand their herd to meet the demand for milk
If you buy all the shares for milk for a goat, you still don't own the whole goat. This is because goats produce more than just milk. They also produce babies every year, as well as significant quantities of manure compost.
- We have farm fresh chicken eggs available for $3 dozen. Email us or use our contact form if you are interested in getting eggs.
- We make Fromage Blanc, Feta, and Mozzarella with or goat milk. Email us or use our contact form to inquire about cheese.
- We make long lasting, good feeling goat milk soap with a wide variety of scents as well as unscented varieties. Our soaps use natural ingredients, and some have various combinations of dried herbs, oatmeal, honey, charcoal, salt, and more. We also have felted soaps, lotions, lip balms, and other products as well. See our Goat Milk Soaps page for information about and to order our handmade goat milk soaps.
The compost from the goats allows us to have a productive garden in which we grow a variety of vegetables and herbes. We also have several fruit trees. When we have extra produce, we will bring it to our farmers markets and/or post on our Facebook page what is available. Email us or use our contact form to find out what we currently have available.
- We are not currently raising calves, but hope to do so again in the future. When we are able to do this, we raise them on fresh whole goat milk, organic pastures, and a limited amount of grain. This beef is known as baby beef, lighter in color than mature beef, with little marbling.
It is low in fat, tender, and flavorful. We typically have 2-3 calves available each year usually in January. Each calf will have a finished hanging weight of about 300 lbs. The calves will be processed at a USDA inspected processor. The beef will be professionally cut, wrapped, and frozen, ready to put directly in the freezer. Cuts will include steaks, burger, roasts, stew meat, etc. We are selling calves by halves or by quarters. Contact us for prices. Beef will be available by pre-order only. Email us or use our contact form to inquire about availability.
- We host several events throughout the year including an Open House in the fall and a Baby Goat Experience day in the spring. In the future, we hope to have more produce, honey, and other items. Email us or use our contact form, follow us on Facebook, or sign up for our email newsletter to let us know of your interest in any of these things and we'll be able to let you know when they are available!

Lego Goat
One of Bill's biggest hobbies as a kid was Lego. So naturally we needed to combine the Lego hobby with the love of goats when we got married. The end result is this lego goat:

Farm Practices
Our herd enjoys a high standard of health. Orchard grass hay, alfalfa hay, and minerals are made available free choice. We feed a hand mixed grain to our does and bucks. Our grain consists of alfalfa pellets, beet pulp, kelp, calf manna, sunflower seeds, etc. We strive to provide excellent nutrition for optimal herd health and milk quality.

The goats have a large pasture that ensures they receive plenty of exercise. All goats are vaccinated with CD/T and receive Bo-Se regularly. We regularly test for CAE, Brucella, and TB, and we are part of the Scrapie Prevention Program.
Births are attended and kids are removed from their dams immediately. Kids are raised on a CAE prevention program being bottle-fed with heat treated colostrums and fed pasteurized milk in a lambar. The kids are also fed a coccidiostat grain and treated with Co-Rid.
We are not on test, but we do weigh each doe's milk at each milking and keep accurate barn records. Heavy production is important to us, as well as the strength to sustain that production.
As of 2020, we are currently not attending goat shows, but have done so in the past and hope to again in the future. We have shown in GA, IN, KY, MD, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, and WV.
We use organic sustainable farming practices.
We place an emphasis on excellence with everything we do, striving for the highest quality in all our products.
